Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance

Asli Ozdemir is the Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance at VIP where she has been overseeing the data collection, quality management and reporting since 2016. An advocate of participatory and equity based methods in research design, she represents VIP at several data management workgroups with government and nonprofit partners. Asli has over 12 years of experience in program evaluation working at several international organizations and nonprofits located in Europe, Africa and the United States. She conducted field research in Madagascar as a Tinker-Walker fellow, focusing on gender-based assessment of food security in rural regions and perceptions of smallholder farmers on agribusiness co-ops. She spent 2 years as a refugee caseworker in Middle East, processing the cases and advocating for the rights of at-risk women and children, religious and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals and war victims. She is passionate about working with marginalized communities and the role of research in raising their voices. A graduate of American University’s School of International Service, Asli holds a MS in Development Management in Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation and Social Entrepreneurship.
