Training & Workshops

How can we change attitudes and build understanding in our community about gender-based violence?

VIP’s Community Education and Outreach team works to engage the general public in education and community action efforts against domestic violence. Through workshops, presentations, and trainings we raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence and sexual assault. We work with our hosts to tailor each workshop to fit the needs of the community. All of our materials and presentations are bilingual and available in Spanish and English. Our presenters have provided multi-day trainings to professional service providers, developed a 6-week youth educational program on anti-violence, and participated in panel discussions.

Workshop topics include:

  • Domestic Violence 101
  • Dating Violence
  • Sexual Assault
  • Safety Planning
  • Economic and Financial Abuse
  • Legal Rights of Battered Immigrant Women
