Volunteer and Intern Opportunities

We are thrilled that you are interested in supporting our critical work to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence and related forms of gender-based violence. We welcome volunteers and interns of all backgrounds and skills.

Volunteers and interns are essential to VIP’s ability to provide high-quality services and advocacy to survivors. Whether you are interested in direct service with survivors, administrative tasks, or something in between, we have a role for you. Most opportunities take place Monday through Friday (typically between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.) at one of VIP’s locations in the Bronx, Manhattan, and/or Queens.

VIP offers semester and yearly placements for students enrolled in social work or mental health programs, depending on the student’s and university’s program requirements and VIP’s need and capacity. Interns are placed across the organization — from our community, housing, and specialized programs to VIP’s administrative offices. Students gain experience as clinicians or community organizers/educators or assist with organizational structures and policies that enhance VIP’s service delivery.

If you are interested, please send a cover letter and resume to volunteerandintern@vipmujeres.org and indicate in the Subject line, “VIP Internship”.
